Kinetic Ribbon Trail [JOAT]Kinetic Ribbon Trail Introduction Kinetic Ribbon Trail is an open-source trend-following indicator built on two structural layers: a 20-line Hull Moving Average gradient ribbon that quantifies the spread and conviction of near-term versus long-term momentum, and a Fibonacci-anchored adaptive trailing stop that adjusts its sensitivity based on the current swing structure and volatility ratio. The two layers interact — the ribbon provides visual context for momentum strength while the trail provides the dynamic level that determines directional bias. The unique analytical contribution is the ribbon normalization. Most HMA ribbon indicators simply plot multiple lines and fill between them. Kinetic Ribbon Trail computes the signed spread between the fastest and slowest ribbon line, normalizes it by the 200-bar exponential average of that spread, clamps it to a -1 to +1 range, and uses the result to drive a continuous color gradient between the bear and bull theme colors. This means the ribbon's color intensity directly reflects how unusual the current momentum spread is relative to its historical average — not just whether the ribbon is bullish or bearish. Core Concepts 1. 20-Line HMA Ribbon with rFactor Normalization Twenty Hull Moving Average lines are computed from a base period, incrementing by a configurable step. The spread between the fastest and slowest line is the primary signal variable: rSpread = rh01 - rh20 rAvgSpread = ta.ema(math.abs(rSpread), 200) rFactor = math.max(-1, math.min(1, rSpread / (rAvgSpread * 1.5 + 1e-9))) rCol = color.from_gradient(rFactor, -1, 1, colorBEAR, colorBULL) When the fastest line is far above the slowest relative to its recent average, rFactor approaches +1 and the ribbon glows in full bull theme color. The gradient reflects spread magnitude — a bullish spread twice as wide as normal appears more saturated than one just barely positive. 2. Fibonacci Adaptive Trailing Stop The trailing stop anchors to swing structure rather than to fixed ATR multiples. Confirmed swing highs and lows define a Fibonacci range. Three trail levels are computed from this range at the 0.382, 0.5, and 0.618 Fibonacci retracement. One is selected based on the trail mode: Aggressive, Balanced, or Conservative. A volatility adjustment scales the selected level by the inverse of the current volatility ratio. The trail ratchets: for longs, it can only move up. For shorts, it can only move down. A flip occurs when price closes through the trail level with body ratio and penetration confirmation. 3. A muted or transitional color means the spread is near its historical average — momentum is uncertain. Step 2: Watch for Trail Flips A signal fires when the Fibonacci trail flips direction and confidence meets the minimum grade. The trade block appears immediately with entry, stop, and three TP levels. Step 3: Use Regime Context The four-state regime in the dashboard tells you whether you are in a trending or ranging environment. High-confidence signals in trending regimes carry more structural weight than the same grade in a ranging regime. Indicator Limitations Swing detection uses ta.pivothigh() and ta.pivotlow() with a lookback offset. The Fibonacci levels are computed from swings confirmed bars after they occurred In markets with very shallow swing structures, the Fibonacci range can be small relative to ATR, causing the trail to cluster near the current price and produce excessive flips The 20-line ribbon increases visual complexity. The problem this solves is band relevance. Standard VWAP deviations use fixed multipliers (1×, 2×, 3× standard deviation) that carry no structural meaning in market terms. Replacing those multipliers with Fibonacci ratios (0.236, 0.382, 0.5, 0.618, 1.0, 1.618) means the band levels correspond to proportional retracement relationships that institutional participants commonly reference. The 1.618 band in particular acts as an extreme extension zone where reversion probability, quantified by the built-in Z-score engine, typically exceeds 99.7%. Core Concepts 1. MIDAS VWAP with Configurable Anchoring The VWAP calculation uses the MIDAS method — cumulative volume-weighted price that resets at a user-selected anchor point rather than running as a continuous session VWAP. The anchor can be set automatically (based on the current timeframe), manually to a specific higher timeframe, or to a precise date. This allows the VWAP to be anchored to any significant market event. MTF CVD Synchrony | Rainbow MatrixGENERAL OVERVIEW MTF CVD Synchrony is a multi-timeframe directional flow oscillator that condenses five independent CVD (Cumulative Volume Delta) readings — one per Fibonacci-spaced timeframe — into a single weighted Master Line on a zero-centered 0-100 scale, surrounded by per-TF "ghost lines" that fade visually as they diverge from the consensus. The defining feature: 50 is true neutral. Above 50 means buyers are dominating; below 50 means sellers are dominating. The further from 50, the stronger the directional pressure. When the five timeframes align, the rainbow becomes a solid band; when they diverge, the disagreement becomes a visible density property of the indicator itself. A background histogram visualizes the Master score's deviation from the neutral 50 line — green columns extend up when buyers dominate, red columns extend down when sellers dominate. A compact 7×9 MTF Legend Table surfaces every dimension simultaneously: per-TF resolutions, score values, trend direction, divergence flags, raw flow magnitude, and named directional State — with an antenna marker flagging the row whose timeframe matches your chart's native resolution. WHAT IS THE THEORY BEHIND THIS INDICATOR Cumulative Volume Delta attempts to answer a question that price and volume alone cannot: in any given bar, were buyers or sellers more aggressive? Traditional volume tells you HOW MUCH traded, but not the DIRECTION of the pressure. A high-volume bar that closes flat tells a very different story from a high-volume bar that closes at its highs — yet raw volume scores them identically. CVD approximates directional pressure by weighting each bar's volume by where price closed within its range. This indicator uses the Close Location Value (CLV) for that weighting: clv = ((close − low) − (high − close)) / (high − low) CLV ranges from +1 (close exactly at the high — maximum buying pressure) to −1 (close exactly at the low — maximum selling pressure), with 0 at the midpoint. Multiplying CLV by volume produces a signed directional contribution per bar: delta_raw = clv × volume. This is more nuanced than the binary tick rule (close > open = buy) used by most "delta" indicators — CLV captures HOW DECISIVELY price closed in its range, not just the sign. The ghost-line rainbow makes that alignment visible at a glance. 🔹 Adaptive Fibonacci Channel What It Does Six color-coded bands around the Master Line that adapt to its own recent volatility, using the brand's canonical Fibonacci ratios. Method Highest/lowest of the Master over a configurable lookback (default 50) are smoothed by EMA (default 10) to form the channel envelope. Bands sit at canonical Fibonacci proportions: Z-Breathing (1.50/1.85), Z-Alert (1.85σ anchor), Z-Exhaustion (2.75/1.85), Black Swan (3.85/1.85). All six band values are mathematically clamped to before rendering, keeping the rainbow inside the visible pane. Why It Matters Static thresholds can't adapt to regime changes. When price makes a new high but directional flow doesn't confirm, the rally is running on fading conviction — a classic distribution warning. Alerts fire once per confirmed bar (alert.freq_once_per_bar + barstate.isconfirmed gating). Historical bars never repaint after they close. The live bar updates intra-bar as expected for a real-time indicator. The indicator labels every completed swing with its swing number and deepest fib level reached (e.g. "▲ #12 78.6%"), and displays a statistics table showing the count and percentage of swings reaching each level. All visual elements (trend boxes, fib lines, retracement boxes, labels, and the statistics table) are drawn only on the last chart bar, keeping the indicator performant during real-time scrolling. Retracement labels update in real time so you always see the current value for the active swing. HOW IT WORKS ------------ 1. SWING DETECTION (ATR-Deviation ZigZag) A volatility-adaptive ZigZag engine finds pivot highs and lows. A pivot is confirmed when price moves against the current leg by at least ATR(period) × deviation multiplier. A minimum swing size filter discards insignificant wiggles. A spike filter rejects reversals triggered by bars with extreme wick-to-body ratios. 2. HIGHER-TIMEFRAME (HTF) CONTEXT (optional) When enabled, the indicator loads data from a higher timeframe (default: 1h) and runs the same ZigZag engine on it. Completed HTF swings are drawn as translucent boxes on the chart. Local swings are filtered to only count when their direction matches the HTF swing they fall inside. This removes counter-trend noise within the larger structure. A separate gate ("Exclude Retracements outside HTF swing") further filters retracement contributions: only retracements where both the trend leg and the counter-trend leg fall inside the same completed HTF box are counted in statistics and drawn on the chart. 3. TREND & RETRACEMENT TRACKING Alternating pivot types (high → low → high → ...) create directional trends. For each unfinalised trend, the indicator tracks the extreme retracement price bar by bar. When the trend completes, the retracement percentage is calculated using the actual counter-trend leg. This value is then compared against each enabled Fibonacci level. 4. FIBONACCI LEVEL COUNTING A cumulative counting system tallies how many trends have retraced to each enabled level. Confluence Zone Engine [CZE]# Confluence Zone Engine A structural analysis indicator that identifies support and resistance zones by clustering Anchored VWAPs and Anchored Volume Profile levels across the chart timeframe and up to three higher timeframes. Each zone is rated 1 to 5 stars based on how many independent sources cluster at the level and how diverse those sources are. This is a structural analysis tool. It marks where multiple independent technical references agree at a price. It does not place trades or suggest entries, exits, targets, stops, or position sizes. --- ## What this script does The engine runs a six-stage pipeline on every confirmed bar: **Stage 1 — Pivot detection.** Detects pivot highs and pivot lows at Fibonacci-spaced lengths (3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89). Each pivot becomes an "anchor" point. Default enabled tiers are 8, 21, and 34 — selected to give fast / medium / slow coverage without redundancy. Pivots at multiple Fibonacci lengths give the engine *automatic structural anchors* spanning timescales — short-term swings, intraday swings, session-level swings. The Fibonacci spacing (3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89) ensures the anchors are non-redundant: each tier has a different bar requirement and catches different swings. **AVWAP measures participant breakeven from each anchor.** This is the "where might trapped participants defend" dimension. POC is the most-traded price; VAH/VAL are the edges of the 70%-volume range. AVWAP and POC measure different things — average price vs most-accepted price — and frequently disagree. When they *do* agree at a level, that's two independent signals saying "this price matters." **Multi-timeframe replication tests for structural agreement.** A zone that exists only on the chart timeframe is one-timeframe noise. A zone where chart-TF contributors *agree with* higher-TF contributors at the same price is structural — the same level shows up no matter which timescale you measure from. The engine treats HTF agreement as a primary input to the star rating: HTF-aligned zones can earn an extra star (capped to prevent inflation). **The clustering is where the value emerges.** Individually, none of these components produce reliable levels. AVWAP gets broken constantly. POC migrates. Pivot levels get violated. But when the engine sees that the 21-pivot AVWAP, the 34-pivot POC, the 8-pivot VAL, and a 1H AVWAP all land within 0.08% of each other at the same price, that's a confluence of independent references measuring different things — and that *coincidence* is what produces structural significance. The star rating quantifies how much agreement is present. Why Adaptive Fibonacci? Static Fibonacci tools require manual anchor selection, which introduces subjectivity and results in different traders drawing the same move differently.
