Such a move would grant him the legal authority to impose tariffs on both adversaries and US allies. Meanwhile, during the overnight session on Thursday, long-term UK Gilt yields surged past 5%, marking their highest level since 1998.

Simultaneously, Federal Reserve (Fed) officials have been making headlines while US financial markets remained closed in observance of former US President Jimmy Carter’s National Day of Mourning.
