Sector Update: Consumer

Consumer stocks were mixed late Thursday afternoon, with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) decreasing 0.3% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) adding 0.2%.

In corporate news, Inter Parfums IPAR shares plunged more than 10% in recent trading, a day after it reported Q1 net sales of $324 million, up from $312 million a year earlier, but missed the consensus on Capital IQ of $334.2 million.
