However, such a decision alone may not be sufficient to stimulate the recovery of the British pound. The BoE needs to reassure markets that they will continue tightening their policy despite signs of easing price pressures. Furthermore, the British currency could gather strength if a policy statement reveals that some policymakers have voted in favor of a 50 basis point hike.
