Within this chart I have highlighted all 4 of Ethereums bullruns in 2021 (first one starts in 2020) and analyzed each one separately to see how this current run could play out.
the data we will be gathering here are:
total days the bull run ran (start to end)
Percentage gained
Total days the bear run ran (referred as a correction)
Percentage dropped
1st Run - December 24 - 2020 This ETH bullrun started out after a long consolidation period, although many alt coins were already 3x by this time, ETH hadn't seen any action yet. The run ran for 58 days netting Ethereum a 260% increase in price (from $585 to $1962)
The following 8 days Ethereum took tanked a total of 31% (from $1962 to $1420) before the bulls came back. Bullrun duration: 58 days Correction duration: 8 days Percentage gained: +260% Percentage corrected: -31%
Bull Run 2 (Feb 28 - May 11 -2021) Bullrun duration: 73 days Correction duration: 44 days Percentage gained: +203% Percentage corrected: -59%
Bull Run 3 (July 21 - Sept 25) Bullrun duration: 47 days Correction duration: 15 days Percentage gained: +126% Percentage corrected: -33%
Where we are now (29 Sept - 8 Nov) Bullrun duration: 41 days Correction duration: 9 days Percentage gained: +73% Percentage corrected: -18% There is not enough data yet to assess what phase we are currently in. But Ethereum is very much still susceptible of going lower.
Based on Ethereums past performance, you can see that the corrections usually last a fraction of the bullrun. The first correction lasted 87% shorter than the bull run The second correction lasted 40% shorter than the bull run The third correction lasted 64% shorter than the bull run
Currently, if we see take the last correction day as 18th of November, the total correction days are 9. meaning that it lasted 78% shorter than the bull run.
Are we in a dead cat bounce or are we at the start of a new bull run? It's hard to decide. Ethereum can possibly keep on following the purple trend line in a bullish pattern, however I wouldn't be surprised if the correction isn't over yet.
