TMA Legacy - "The Arty"

Euro Fx/U.S. DollarFXCM

Deskripsi

This is a script based on the original "The Arty" indicator by PhoenixBinary.
The Phoenix Binary community and the TMA community built this version to be public code for the community for further use and revision after the reported passing of Phoenix Binary (The community extends our condolences to Phoenix's family).

The intended uses are the same as the original but some calculations are different and may not act or signal the same as the original.

Description of the indicator from original posting.
This indicator was inspired by Arty and Christy .

Fixed an error in the code that wasn't turning off the trend fill from settings.

This indicator was inspired by Arty. I've taken what he teaches and have applied the tools that he uses into one useful indicator.

█ COMPONENTS

Here is a brief overview of the indicator:

Smoothed Moving Averages
Arty uses three main smoothed moving averages and on occasion a fourth. All of the moving averages are customizable by color, length, and timeframe.

1 — 21 SMMA - this is the white moving average closest to price and is the first part of our small cloud.
2 — 50 SMMA - this is the green moving average and is the second part of or small cloud.
3 — 100 SMMA - this is the optional moving average and is only used occasionally in Arty's teachings.
4 — 200 SMMA - this is our final moving average and is part of our larger cloud. It also have a dynamic color feature that will show, on a micro level, who is currently in control of the market short term.

Moving Average Clouds
You have a few options when it comes to the moving average clouds.

1 — Small cloud solid color - this is a simple cloud to help visualize the current trend.
2 — Small dynamic - this cloud helps you see who is currently in control of the market and helps you make timely trade entry and exit decisions based on other confluences.
3 — Large solid cloud - this cloud spans from the 200 moving average all the way to price action. This is to help quickly gauge market direction.

Candlestick Patterns
Currently there are two candlestick patterns that are monitored and set alerts for. Alerts can be set for bullish or bearish as well as an alert when these patterns are combined.

1 — "Big Ass Candles" aka Engulfing Candles - You can select bullish , bearish , both, or hide them.
2 — 3 Line Strike - This is a reversal pattern that you can again select bullish , bearish , both, or hide them.
portocar
@Hotchachachaaa, what is the difference between "strict" and "not strict" signals?
Hotchachachaaa
@portocar, It has to do with where price is in relation to the moving averages. not strict it marks all engulfing candles. Strict only marks bullish engulfing candles when the price is below the fast MA and above the slowest MA, opposite for bearish engulfing cnadles.

@Hotchachachaaa, thank you for the reply. I have mine set to "strict". However, I notice that some of the signals generated, never touched the fast MA. Is this a bug, or am I misinterpreting the script? (would it be possible to send you a screenshot)
Deeks
@Hotchachachaaa, The original by Pheonix had a "Strict 21" setting which would only mark bullish if the price was below the Fast MA, and bearish if above the Fast MA
Hotchachachaaa
@Deeks, thanks for the reply i had missed portocar's most recent reply i will double check my math. on the error he is see. but strict should mark regardless of what period you have the fast MA set to. so it doesn't necessarily need to be 21.
Deeks
@Hotchachachaaa, Thanks for your efforts on this, I appreciate that the formulas may be different. This indicator seems to print more engulfing candles than the original. The original had different Strict options - "Strict 21", "Strict 200" and "Not Strict". I'm guessing these relate to the Fast and Slow MAs, but I can't quite work out the exact rules

Feature request:
Please include an option to show the trailing stop loss amount in $ and %. I think the current stop loss figure is the actual price to set your stop to but with Fidelity I need to enter in just the price difference in $ from my entry price and it would be much faster not having to manually calculate this each time. Thanks for all of your work and continuation of this tool and let me know if or when an update it made. Thanks again!
