Imagine, a company like Space X or NASA decide that the only way to progress in space is to build massive batteries to power the biggest journeys man kind has ever seen.
Batteries + Space Exploration = Copper is being removed from the actual planet. This is the "To the moon theory" Copper is no longer on Earth.
Maybe a little bit crazy, maybe 20 years in the future but right now UBER has just put out a request to fly "Drone Cars" and are able to do this due to some fancy new battery created this year.

There was an epidemic where some not so nice people would raid construction sites for all their copper. Got so bad at one point that people's air conditioners weren't even safe in certain parts of USA. This is possibly what drove the price down. So be careful with your investment. If the price gets high enough, these not so nice people may start choppin' those UBER drones and stealing all your crazy space batteries. When copper is over $3, it's quite popular at scrap yards... Otherwise I like your crazy theory :)

@arvo, Thanks for your reply, i think what caused copper to drop was the fact we had nothing to really boost the price up. But now as we progress into the future everyone will have more copper then ever before. Right now people on average own maybe 10 batteries in their whole house. Imagine in 10 years every household could have the equivalent to 1,000 batteries (Copper) over cars and tesla walls, or the competitor that will drop prices even lower.
Its something that we have never really needed bulk quantities of, but if electric EVERYTHING gets rolled out worldwide, i think we are in for a nice surprise.
