If the dominance of the BTC is showing signs of an increase in relation to the ALTs, in my opinion, it would not be a good time to trade them. It is good for BTC and some large, consolidated ALTs like Ether, ADA, BCH, Link and others, but in general the ALT market drops dramatically.
Just note the consolidation periods / BTC Consolidation Zone compared to the same period as the ALTs.
